Precision Blades “Shark Tooth” was developed by Precision Blades Product Development Group specifically to cut more aggressively, very dense mineral wool fibers made from basalt rock and slag. Applications include insulation products made for aerospace, marine, industrial, sound proofing/acoustical applications, furnaces, HVAC, etc. Other applications include fiber, packaging, and honeycomb. “Shark Tooth” entire tooth is sharpened, including the gullet, and is specifically designed to run with the teeth facing backwards for smooth cutting.

The “Sharks Tooth” blade material is manufactured using high carbon European mined ore. The chemical composition of the finished product possesses a unique metallurgical structure exclusive for all Precision Blade products. Our state of the art manufacturing processes is methodical in guaranteeing every tooth is properly sized and extra sharp. Precision Blades proprietary welding process also delivers a stronger bond which withstands higher feed rates than other blades on the market.

“Shark Tooth” is available:

  • Standard product is a straight tooth but also available as a Raker (one tooth set left, one set right, third being straight, etc.) or ETS (every tooth set.. left then right, etc.)
  • Pitches of 4, 6, or 8 Teeth/Inch.
  • Thickness gauges of .020” or .035”
  • Widths from ½” to 1 ¼”
